Abstract:
Provided is a piezoelectric sound generating component having excellent vibration characteristics. This piezoelectric sound generating component is provided with: a vibrating plate, which has a metal plate and a piezoelectric body formed on the metal plate, and which flexurally vibrates when a voltage is applied to the piezoelectric body; a case having a bottom wall, a side wall extending in the thickness direction from the periphery of the bottom wall, and a supporting section for supporting the vibrating plate, said supporting section being a part of the inner peripheral section of the side wall; terminals, which are formed in the case, and which apply a voltage to the vibrating plate; an elastic adhesive, which is formed on the side wall, and fixes the vibrating plate to the supporting section; a conductive adhesive, which is formed on the elastic adhesive, and which electrically connects the terminals and the vibrating plate to each other; a frame-shaped sealing section for sealing a gap between the outer periphery of the vibrating plate and the inner peripheral section of the side wall; and a protecting section, which is formed of a material same as that of the sealing section, and is provided on at least a part of the surface of the piezoelectric body such that the protecting section is in internal contact with the sealing section, said protecting section protecting the surface of the piezoelectric body.
