A pig iron production method according to an embodiment of the present invention is for producing pig iron by using a blast furnace having a tuyere, and comprises: a step in which a first layer containing an ore raw material and a second layer containing coke are alternately stacked inside the blast furnace; and a step in which the ore raw material of the stacked first layers is reduced and melted while blowing an auxiliary fuel into the blast furnace by means of hot air blown from the tuyere. An aggregate for allowing the hot air to reach the center of the blast furnace is mixed in the first layers, and the aggregate contains a reduced iron compact formed by compressing reduced iron.
