The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a pigment composition which, when used for a cosmetic material, for example, allows smooth application and imparts a glossy appearance; and a cosmetic, an ink, a coating material, a toner, or a molded article that include the pigment composition.　This pigment composition is an inorganic pigment covered with lauroyl lysine and has a contact angle with water of 95 degrees or more and a nitrogen specific surface area ratio between before and after being covered of 0.70 or less. Further, a pigment composition according to the present invention is an organic pigment covered with lauroyl lysine and has a contact angle with water of 95 degrees or more and a nitrogen specific surface area ratio between before and after being covered of 0.90 or less. A cosmetic material, an ink, a coating material, a toner, or a molded article according to the present invention include said pigment composition.
