Abstract:
The present invention provides a pigment with which it is possible to form a surface layer, which enables gradation printing to be performed in a satisfactory manner, on a printing substrate to be subjected to gravure printing. This pigment is characterized by having inorganic microparticles and a coating layer that contains a metal oxide and is formed on the surface of the inorganic microparticles, the emission intensity of Zn being 0.005-0.015 at a depth after sputtering for one second after the start of measurement by glow discharge emission spectroscopy (GD-OES analysis method), the emission intensity of Zn being 0.003-0.013 at a depth after sputtering for five seconds after the start of measurement, and the average grain diameter being 50-300 nm.
