Abstract:
A pillow provided with: a lower support (2); a head-supporting part (3) which is disposed to be substantially parallel to the lower support and on which the user's head (H) is laid; and a support mechanism (4), which is provided on the lower support and supports the head-supporting part to be vertically movable, while maintaining the substantially parallel state. The support mechanism is provided with: mutually parallel slanted parts (6A, 6B), the lower ends of which are rotatably connected to the lower support, and the upper ends of which are rotatably connected to the head-supporting part, the slanted parts extending at an incline from the lower support towards the head-supporting part; and an impelling means (7) having an impelling member that impels the slanted parts via a wire (Y) in opposition to the load which tilts same in the direction of incline. The guide parts and the impelling member are disposed on the outer surface of the slanted part disposed on the far side of the head-supporting part. Said pillow is inexpensive and has a simple configuration while enabling quick, smooth and quiet height adjustment appropriate to changes in position as well as size reduction.
