Abstract:
Provided is a pin terminal comprising a rod-shaped substrate and a plating layer covering a prescribed region of the substrate, wherein: the constituent material of the substrate is pure copper or a copper alloy; the plating layer comprises a tin-based layer configured from a metal containing tin; one end side of the substrate comprises a tip covering part; the tin-based layer includes the tip covering part; the tip covering part covers all regions of the one end side of the substrate in the circumferential direction; a 1-mm site from the one end of the pin terminal along the longitudinal direction of the pin terminal serves as a measurement location; and the difference (t1-t2) between the maximum value t1 and the minimum value t2 of the thickness of the tip covering part measured at the measurement location is at least 0.20 μm.
