Abstract:
This pinching detection device of a power window (1) is provided with: a sensor electrode (4) provided in a windowpane (2); a position-detecting electrode (7) that opposes the sensor electrode (4); and a control unit (5). The size of an opposing surface area between the sensor electrode (4) and the position-detecting electrode (7) increases as the windowpane (2) is raised. The control unit (5) detects pinching of foreign matter on the basis of a change in capacitance in the sensor electrode (4) and detects a position in the windowpane (2) on the basis of the change in capacitance.
