Abstract:
Provided is a pipe joint configured so that it is possible to maintain sealing performance between pipe joint members even when the temperature becomes a high temperature or a low temperature and the sealing performance of an elastic seal member is reduced. The pipe joint (100) comprises a female pipe joint member (102) and a male pipe joint member (104) that are detachably connected to each other. The interval between a female pipe joint body (112) and a male pipe joint body (132) is sealed by an elastic seal member (126) when in the connected state. A first seal surface (136) is formed on the inner circumferential surface (112b) of the female pipe joint body (112) and a second seal surface (140) facing the first seal surface (136) is formed on the outer circumferential surface (132a) of the male pipe joint body (132). The female pipe joint body (112) is formed from a material having a larger thermal expansion coefficient than that of the male pipe joint body (132). When the female pipe joint body (112) and the male pipe joint body (132) are cooled to a temperature equal to or lower than a certain temperature, thermal shrinkage causes the first seal surface (136) and the second seal surface (140) to press against each other and engage in a sealed manner.
