A pipe joint comprises a male component and a female component. The male component includes multiple male threads and the female component includes multiple female threads. One of the sets of threads includes an axial projection on a portion of a bearing surface in the circumferential direction, and the other includes a bearing surface removal portion on a portion of the bearing surface in the circumferential direction. When the male and female threads are brought coaxially toward each other in the operation of fastening the male and female components, if the circumferential angle between the two sets of threads is the value at an incorrect tightening start position, the projection collides with the bearing surface of the other threads before the two sets of threads reach an incorrect tightening completion position, and if the circumferential angle between the two sets of threads is the value at the correct tightening start position, the projection enters a bearing surface removal portion before the two sets of threads reach the correct tightening completion position, and collision with the bearing surface of the other set of threads is avoided.
