Title:
PIPELINE COUPLER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/010964
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a pipeline coupler for connecting at least two pipelines. The pipeline coupler comprises: a first valve main body, which is fixed to an end of a first pipeline, is provided with a first flow path, and which is provided with a penetrating ball accommodation aperture on an outer peripheral portion, for gripping a plurality of balls; a first sleeve, which surrounds the outer periphery of the first valve body, is slidably coupled to a position between a coupling position and a releasing position in the lengthwise direction, and is provided with a ball support portion which is protrudingly formed on one area on the inner periphery thereof, so as to press the outer circumferential surface of the ball; a spring which is assembled between the first sleeve and the first valve body, so that the ball support portion is positioned at the coupling position where the outer circumferential surface of the ball is pressed; a second valve main body, which is fixed to an end of a second pipeline that is connected to the first pipeline, is provided with a second flow path that communicates with the first flow path, and on an outer periphery portion of which a stopper protrudes so as to hook onto the ball; and a second sleeve which is formed so as to surround the outer periphery of the second valve main body, wherein a first uneven portion is formed on a surface of the first sleeve that comes into contact with the second sleeve, a second uneven portion is formed on a surface of the second sleeve that comes into contact with the first sleeve, wherein the first sleeve is positioned at the coupling position when the first and second uneven portions are coupled, and the first sleeve is positioned at the release position when the first and second uneven portions do not align, wherein a tilted surface is formed on at least one surface of the first uneven portion and the second uneven portion. As a result, the couple can be attached/detached even from a remote distance or in a space that is not reachable by a worker.
