Abstract:
Provided is a piston manufacturing method including: a formation step for forming a reference surface on a crown surface of a piston; a processing step for processing a piston pinhole in a set position, with the reference surface as a positional reference in the piston axial direction; a measurement step for measuring a compression height, which is a distance from the piston pinhole to the reference surface; and an evaluation step for evaluating the piston axial direction position of the piston pinhole on the basis of the difference between the measured compression height and a distance reference value.
