Abstract:
Provided is a piston wherein a low thermal conduction portion can be formed using a different material. In this piston for an internal combustion engine, a low thermal conduction portion, which has a plurality of flat low thermal conduction portion formation materials and a binder that binds the low thermal conduction portion formation materials, is provided in a recess that is provided on an internal combustion engine combustion chamber side of a crown portion of a main body portion that is formed from an aluminum alloy.
