Abstract:
This piston ring is provided with an annular body having: an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface; and one lateral surface and the other lateral surface that are substantially orthogonal to the inner circumferential surface. The piston ring is provided with: a first curved surface that curves projectively toward a radially outer side of the body on the one-lateral-surface side of the outer circumferential surface; a second curved surface that curves projectively toward a radially outer side of the body on the other-lateral-surface side of the outer circumferential surface; and an intermediate surface extending along a direction that connects the one lateral surface to the other lateral surface so as to connect the first curved surface and the second curved surface. The intermediate surface has a flat portion provided in at least a part thereof. The width of the intermediate surface along the direction that connects the one lateral surface to the other lateral surface is 0.05-0.30 mm.
