Abstract:
A piston ring (10) with variable radial thickness. The piston ring (10) comprises a ring body (11) having an opening (12). When the piston ring (10) is mounted, on the two sides of the opening (12) in symmetry, the inner radius R2 of the ring body (11) in a circumferential sector area forming an angle of 1-90 degrees with the center line of the opening (12) is greater than the inner radius R1 of the ring body (11) in a circumferential sector area forming an angle of 90-180 degrees with the center line of the opening (12). By means of the piston ring, the problem in the prior art of severe wear of an external circular surface, at an opening, of a piston ring in an engine with high thermal load is solved, the durability of the piston ring is improved, and further, the durability of the engine is improved.
