Abstract:
This piston ring (1) consisting of a resin has: an annular body (2) having an inner peripheral surface (2c) and an outer peripheral surface (2d), which face each other, and also having a pair of side surfaces 2a, 2b) for connecting the inner peripheral surface (2c) and the outer peripheral surface (2d); and a joint 3 formed in the body (2). The joint (3) is step-shaped when viewed from at least one of the pair of side surfaces (2a, 2b) and from the outer peripheral surface 2d), and the outer peripheral surface (2d) has a tapered surface having an outer diameter which increases as the tapered surface extends from one side surface (2a) of the pair of side surfaces of the body (2) toward the other side surface (2b).
