Abstract:
Provided is a piston ring which has excellent wear resistance and is reduced in the wear damage of a cylinder. The piston ring 1 can be used in a reciprocating compressor for compressing a gas and comprises a resin composition containing a poly(ether ether ketone) resin as a main component, in which the poly(ether ether ketone) resin has a shear rate of 1000 /s and also has a melt viscosity of 200 Pa•s to 550 Pa•s at a temperature of 400℃ when measured by the measurement method prescribed in ISO 11443, the resin composition contains carbon fibers in an amount of 5 to 25% by volume and a solid lubricant in an amount of 5 to 25% by volume all relative to the whole amount of the resin composition, and the solid lubricant comprises at least one component selected from a PTFE resin and graphite.
