Abstract:
In the piston (2) of the present invention, a chamfered section (15c) is provided on the outer peripheral edge of an anti-small diameter end of a seat section (15) provided on a piston body (10). For this reason, even if a synthetic resin base material (J) forming a piston ring (11) is dragged by dice (20) while its inner circumference is pressed against the seat section (15), the inner circumference of the synthetic resin base material (J) will not be scratched. Therefore, with this shock absorber (S) and piston (2), the inner circumference will not be worn down during the process of mounting a piston ring (11) onto the piston body (10), and the generation of shavings can be suppressed.
