Abstract:
The pit barrel pump has a suction vortex-preventing means that does not cause a reduction in pit size or decreased performance. The vertical pump is provided with: a pump suction port provided at the lower end for suctioning the working fluid; a vaned wheel installed on the rotation shaft adjacent to the suction port; and guide vanes that are disposed downstream of the vaned wheel and pressurize the working fluid to which a rotational component has been applied by the vaned wheel. A vortex generation-preventing device is additionally installed below the pump suction port. The outer diameter ød0 of the pump suction port and the outer diameter of the vortex generation-preventing device are made to be smaller than the maximum outer diameter of the guide vanes ød3. The pump is configured so that the vertical pump and the vortex generation-preventing device can be taken out of the pit.
