Abstract:
A ball hitch system for connecting a trailer to a towing vehicle. The system comprises a trunion (12) adapted to fit in the towing vehicle's receiver. A ball (72) is connected to the trunion through a base (26). Different embodiments may have bases with one or two axis of rotation. In at least two separate embodiments with one axis of rotation, the axis may be either vertical or horizontal. In other embodiments with at least two axis of rotation, the axis of rotation are perpendicular to each other. Various embodiments may have between one (64) to three (120) different sized ball hitches attached with the different sized hitch balls (72) into place as needed. The various embodiments may include locks (32) locking the balls (72) into different positions through their respective axis of rotations, one of which may be a storage position.
