The present disclosure provides a pixel circuit, a driving method, a display substrate, and a display apparatus. The pixel circuit comprises a driving circuit, a light-emitting element, a first light-emitting control circuit, a first control circuit, a second control circuit, a third control circuit, a data writing circuit, and an energy storage circuit; the first control circuit, under the control of a first control signal, controls a first voltage line to communicate with a first electrode of the light-emitting element; the second control circuit, under the control of a second control signal, controls a reference voltage line to communicate with a second electrode of the light-emitting element; and the third control circuit, under the control of a third control signal, controls a first end of the energy storage circuit to communicate with a control end of the driving circuit. Thus, the service life of the light-emitting element can be prolonged while reducing power consumption.
