Abstract:
Provided are a pixel interpolation processing device and an imaging device that make it possible to suitably perform pixel interpolation processing of an image signal that is obtained by a single-panel imaging element having a four-color filter regardless of the arrangement of the four-color filter. The imaging device (1000) is provided with an imaging unit (C1), a signal processing unit (C2), and a pixel interpolation processing unit (100). The imaging element (C1) comprises a single-panel imaging element having a discretionary four-color filter. In response to an image signal that is obtained by this imaging element (C1), the imaging device (1000) uses pixel data relating to the peripheral area of a pixel of interest to determine a plurality of sets of degrees of correlation for two directions that intersect at a right angle and carries out pixel interpolation processing using the degrees of correlation as determination criteria. In addition, even when color component pixels of the same color as the color component pixels of the target of pixel interpolation processing are not present in a direction that exhibits high correlation, the imaging device (1000) uses pixel values that are obtained by performing color space conversion in a direction that is orthogonal to the direction that exhibits high correlation in order to obtain the rate of change of the direction that is orthogonal to the direction that exhibits high correlation and performs pixel interpolation processing on the basis of this rate of change.
