Abstract:
The invention relates to a data carrier, or a group of such data carriers, allowing a unique allocation of information, to the use of said data carriers, and to a reading unit, wherein a data carrier may be allocated any desired action of a data processing system, or may initiate the same, via the structured information layer of said carrier. In particular, the invention also relates to a playing card system enabling the unique allocation of players and other game-relevant data, wherein the system comprises collector cards made up of game cards, which may be utilized both via the Internet (online) and on local data processing systems (offline); accordingly, in a particularly preferred embodiment, the invention further relates to the combination of the classic collector card game with computer and video games. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the invention also relates to cards for access systems and prepaid cards for payment systems representing data carriers and comprising a unique code that can be read by a reading unit.
