Abstract:
[Problem] To reduce uneven heating when heating a desired heating region. [Solution] A planar heat-generating body 1 provided with: a resistor film 3; three or more electrodes 2 disposed at mutually different positions on the film 3; and a control unit 5 that performs control so as to apply a positive voltage to a positive application electrode, which is at least one of the electrodes 2, and so as to apply a negative voltage to a negative application electrode, which is at least one of the electrodes 2 other than the positive application electrodes. The control unit 5 changes the polarity of the voltage applied to at least some of the electrodes 2, and thereby switches the arrangement of positive application electrodes and negative application electrodes between three or more configurations such that there are two or more negative application electrodes and one positive application electrode, or two or more positive application electrodes and one negative application electrode, and such that the voltages applied to at least two of the electrodes 2 have the same potential.
