Abstract:
Disclosed is a planar light emitting device comprised of power feed portions for positive and negative electrodes, which are electrically connected to a planar positive electrode and a planar negative electrode; an auxiliary electrode for the positive electrode, which is formed in the shape of a rectangular frame, and is formed along the entire circumference of the surface of the planar positive electrode; and an auxiliary electrode for the power feed portion for the positive electrode, which is integral with the auxiliary electrode, and is stacked on the power feed portion for the positive electrode. The planar positive and negative electrodes are formed on one surface of a transparent substrate, and have a rectangular shape in a planar view. A light emitting portion is comprised of an area wherein only an organic layer is provided between the planar positive electrode and the planar negative electrode. The distance between two predetermined parallel sides selected among the four sides of the light emitting portion and the outer peripheral edge of the transparent substrate is smaller than the distance between the two other parallel sides and the outer peripheral edge of the transparent substrate. The power feed portions for the negative electrode and the positive electrode are disposed along the two other parallel sides. The power feed portion for the positive electrode is disposed on each of the opposed sides of the power feed portion for the negative electrode in the width direction thereof.
