Abstract:

Provided is a planar light source device which satisfies the formula α1<α2 where (α1) is an angle formed between the direction wherein light outputted from a mortar-shaped light emitting device (50) has the maximum intensity and the vertical direction, on the plane which includes the vertical direction and the X direction or on the plane which includes the vertical direction and the Y direction, and (α2) is an angle formed between the direction wherein the light outputted from the mortar-shaped light emitting device (50) has the maximum intensity and the diagonal direction (C), on the plane which includes the vertical direction and the diagonal direction (C) of the arrangement of the mortar-shaped light emitting devices (50). The first nonuniformity eliminating sheet (113a) surface and the second nonuniformity eliminating sheet (113b) surface which are on the side further from the light sources have a shape wherein shapes each of which extends in the longitudinal direction with a cross-section having a shape protruding upward are arranged at a pitch (P'), and a pitch (Px) and a pitch (Py) are larger than the pitch (P').
