Abstract:
Provided is a planar light source device capable of obtaining large-area, uniform, and high-quality planar illumination light. Specifically disclosed is a planar light source device provided with a main body case (4) which surrounds, by side plates, the periphery of a predetermined gap between a pair of optical reflection plates disposed to face each other with the predetermined gap therebetween, and a plurality of point light sources (2) which are arranged at predetermined intervals in at least one side plate of the main body case (4), and emits light from the point light sources (2) to the outside by transmitting the light through at least one of the pair of optical reflection plates (5). At least one (5) of the pair of optical reflection plates (5) is provided with a light blocking region (S1), in which the light from the point light sources (2) is blocked, on the side of the point light sources (2), and a light transmission region (S2) in which reflection light reflected between the optical reflection plates is transmitted therethrough without the light from the point light sources (2) being directly transmitted therethrough, the transmission rate increases as the distance from the light blocking region (S1) increases, and the luminance is regulated so as to be substantially uniform on the surface of the optical reflection plate (5).
