Abstract:
In this planar waveguide laser device (1), a base board (6) is joined to an upper surface of a waveguide (2). An end face of the base board (6) that is orthogonal to the laser light oscillation direction has, at a corner portion thereof toward the waveguide (2), a chamfered recessed portion (6a). An end face of the waveguide (2) that is orthogonal to the laser light oscillation direction is covered by a coating (7). The upper surface of the waveguide (2) facing the recessed portion (6a) of the base board (6) is covered by a wraparound portion (7a) which is in continuity with the coating (7).
