Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a plant body and seed of an NWB-CMS cabbage having cytoplasmic male sterility, which is derived from a line of NWB-CMS cabbages prepared by fusing the protoplast of the plant body of a cabbage having male fertility, the cytoplasm of which has been inactivated, and the protoplast of a plant body of a line of an NWB-CMS radish which is derived from the callose of a line of NWB-CMS radishes having cytoplasmic male sterility, the nucleus of which has been inactivated; the plant body and seed of a line of NWB-CMS western vegetables having cytoplasmic male sterility, which is produced by breeding the plant body of an NWB-CMS cabbage as the mother line for breeding with a western vegetable having male fertility that is to be introduced; a method for producing the hybrid seed of a line of NWB-CMS western vegetables having cytoplasmic male sterility, which comprises the step of breeding the plant body of an NWB-CMS cabbage as the mother line for breeding with a western vegetable having male fertility that is to be introduced; and the hybrid seed of a line of NWB-CMS western vegetables produced using the method.
