Provided is a plasma display device wherein image qualities are improved and warping of a thin cover glass plate having a large area is reduced. A plasma display device (10) is provided with a plasma display panel (20), which is provided with glass substrates (21, 22), and a cover glass plate (30) adhered to the display side of the plasma display panel (20). The plasma display device (10) is characterized in that the cover glass plate (30) has a diagonal length of 81 cm or more, and a thickness of 1.5 mm or less, and that the average thermal expansion coefficient of the cover glass plate (30) is 80-120 % of the average thermal expansion coefficient of the glass substrates (21, 22) at a temperature within the range of 50-350°C.
