Abstract:
In order to achieve a higher luminous efficiency while minimizing increases in discharge voltages in a high resolution PDP, the PDP is configured in such a manner that ribs are positioned between a front plate and a rear plate, spaces defined by the ribs are maintained between the front plate and the rear plate, and each space defined by the ribs serves as a discharge cell. The minimum width of the discharge spaces defined by the ribs directly under a pair of discharge electrodes is 65 μm to 100 μm. A discharge gas comprising xenon, neon and helium is sealed in the discharge spaces. The partial pressure of the xenon in the discharge gas is set in the range of 15% to 25%, and the partial pressure of helium is set in the range of 20% to 50%. The total pressure of the discharge gas is set to between 60 kPa and 70 kPa.
