Abstract:
A plasma display panel (PDP; 10) includes a first panel (12) and a second panel (14) which face each other. The first panel includes a first substrate provided with display electrodes and address electrodes. The second panel includes a second substrate facing the first substrate across a discharge space (DS) and barrier ribs (BR) provided on the second substrate. The second panel further includes an exhaust space (ES), an exhaust hole (EH) penetrating the second substrate, a concave portion (CC1) open to the first panel, a groove portion (GR), and a sealing member (SL1) at least part of which is provided in the concave portion. For example, the exhaust space is formed between a region where the barrier ribs are formed and an outer edge (OT). The concave portion is provided integrally with the exhaust hole and coupled to the exhaust space by the groove portion. When the first panel and the second panel are joined, the sealing member seals a path from the exhaust space to the exhaust hole. Consequently, the flat PDP can be provided.
