Abstract:
The present invention relates to a plastic member (1) for being mounted to a vehicle body (A), basically comprising a main body (2) comprising a first surface (2.1) and a second surface (2.2); two elastic connection brackets (3) made of an elastic material and each comprising a first part (3.1) which extends opposite to each other from the second surface (2.2) in a first direction (Yl) for connecting the main body (2) to the vehicle body (A), and a second part (3.2) which extends in a curved manner from the end of the first parts (3.1); at least one interconnection part (4) preferably extending between the middle parts of the elastic connection brackets (3); a stopper (5), which extends from preferably the middle portion of the interconnection part (4) in the first direction (Yl), and the length of which does not surpass the curved ends of the elastic connection brackets (3).

CLAIMS

1. A plastic member (1) for being mounted to a vehicle body (A), comprising - a main body (2) comprising a first surface (2.1) and a second surface (2.2); two elastic connection brackets (3) each comprising a first part (3.1) which extends opposite to each other from the second surface (2.2) in a first direction (Yl) for connecting the main body (2) to the vehicle body (A), and characterized by

- a second part (3.2) which extends in a curved manner from the end of the first parts (3.1);

at least one interconnection part (4) preferably extending between the middle parts of the elastic connection brackets (3);

a stopper (5), which extends from preferably the middle portion of the interconnection part (4) in the first direction (Yl), and the length of which does not surpass the curved ends of the elastic connection brackets (3).

2. A plastic member (1) according to Claim 1, characterized by a support member (6) which extends preferably from the midpoint of the interconnection part (4) in the second direction (Y2).

3. A plastic member (1) according to Claim 1, characterized by the second parts (3.2) extending towards each other.

Description:
A PLASTIC MEMBER COMPRISING ELASTIC CONNECTION

BRACKETS

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to the cancellation of the additional pieces used to prevent the risk of noise in the areas where the vehicle plastic (PP) members are in contact with the vehicle body in order to provide the dimensional positions, and a stopper that enables contact thereof to the vehicle body to a certain extent.

Background of the Invention Additional pieces such as rubber, felt and sponge are used to prevent formation of noise due to the vibrations on the currently used automobile plastic member. The cost of the said additional pieces, which are positioned between the vehicle body and the plastic member, is considerably high. Another point is that the additional pieces are not produced together with the plastic member, but they are mounted thereto subsequently. The subsequent mounting is carried out by means of a double-sided tape or adhesive, and this in turn causes multiple drawbacks, such as dislocation of the said pieces during the vehicle movement or incomplete assembly of the piece. European patent document no. EP2210781, an application known in the state of the art, discloses a structure for fastening the plastic trim parts provided in a vehicle. However, in the said structure, the cushion material is inserted into the connecting body subsequently, and the labor for mounting the cushion material causes many cost-increasing factors, such as additional parts and adhesive materials. Problems Solved by the Invention

The objective of the present invention is to enable contact between a plastic vehicle member and the vehicle body within elastic boundaries and to ensure the desired positioning of the plastic member, while preventing vibrations and undesired sounds (noise) due to vibrations.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide a cost reduction by eliminating the need for additional pieces or adhesive materials for mounting of the plastic member since it will be molded uniformly (integrally) as a single piece.

Detailed Description of the Invention

A plastic member and an elastic bracket thereon developed to fulfill the objective of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures wherein,

Figure 2 is a view of the lower part of the plastic member and the elastic bracket. Figure 3 is the top view of the plastic member.

A plastic member (1) for being mounted to a vehicle body (A) essentially comprises

a main body (2) comprising a first surface (2.1) and a second surface (2.2); two connection brackets (3) made of an elastic material and each comprising a first part (3.1) which extends opposite to each other from the second surface (2.2) in a first direction (Yl) (preferably perpendicularly) for connecting the main body (2) to the vehicle body (A), and a second part (3.2) which extends in a curved manner from the end of the first parts (3.1);

at least one interconnection part (4) preferably extending between the middle parts of the elastic connection brackets (3);

a stopper (5), which extends from preferably the middle portion of the interconnection part (4) in the first direction (Yl), and the length of which does not surpass the curved ends of the elastic connection brackets (3).

A preferred embodiment of the plastic member (1) of the present invention is shown in Figure 1. The said plastic member (1) is preferably made of“pp53.l80” plastic material for being connected to a vehicle body (A).

The said plastic member (1) comprises a main body (2) and elastic connection brackets (3). The said elastic connection brackets (3) is integral with the main body (2), and extend in a first direction (Yl) (in other words, towards the vehicle body (A)) starting from the second surface (2.2) of the main body (2). The elastic connection brackets (3) are oppositely positioned and comprise two different portions, wherein there is a first part (3.1) on the portion close to the main body (2). In the extension of each first part (3.1), there are second parts (3.2) extending in a curved manner towards each other or in opposite directions. Within the elastic deformation limits, the second parts (3.2) enter the vehicle body (A) and contact occurs between the main body (2) and the vehicle body (A).

There is provided an interconnection part (4) extending between the elastic connection brackets (3) preferably at an area near the middle part of the said brackets. Preferably at the midpoint of the said interconnection part (4), there is provided a stopper (5) extending between the elastic connection brackets (3) in the first direction (Yl) (in other words, towards the vehicle body) and having a length shorter than the second parts (3.2) of the elastic connection brackets (3). The stopper (5) is preferably in the form of a protrusion. According to the predetermined length of the stopper (5), the interference limit of the elastic connection brackets (3) to the vehicle body (A) is determined. When the stopper (5) contacts the vehicle body (A), further movement of the elastic connection brackets (3) in the first direction (Yl) is limited. Thus, the said stopper (5) prevents the connection brackets (3) from exceeding the elastic deformation limits and being subject to plastic deformation. By providing contact of the vehicle body (A) and the plastic part (2) within the elastic limits, possible vibrations and undesired noise that might occur due to these vibrations are prevented.

In one embodiment of the invention, there is provided a support member (6) which extends between the elastic connection brackets (3) preferably from the midpoint of the interconnection part (4) in the second direction (Y2) (in other words, towards the plastic member). The support member (6) may preferably be in the form of a protrusion.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the portion of the elastic connection brackets (3) that will enter into the vehicle body (A) is designed to be 2 mm (millimeters), and in addition, it is confirmed by the results of the virtual analysis that they may enter into the vehicle body (A) up to a limit of 4 mm without causing a visual deformation at the elastic connection brackets (3). For values greater than 4 mm, the stopper (5) contacts the vehicle body (A). The dimensions are preferably as indicated, but are not limited thereto.

The plastic member (1) of the present invention is suitable for use in the area between the rear window and the rear seat of the vehicles; however it is not limited thereto and can be used in place of the plastic members (e.g. trims on the dashboard, door trim, etc.) attached to the vehicle inner body.
