Abstract:
Disclosed is plate changing apparatus and method wherein plate changing cassettes (36a, 36b) which can hold machine plates (100a, 100b) and can bring the distal ends thereof close to plate cylinders (22a, 22b) by tilting, sections (71a, 71b) for detecting the tilt positions of the plate changing cassettes (36a, 36b), a plate changing work start switch (73) which instructs the plate changing work between the plate changing cassettes (36a, 36b) and the plate cylinders (22a, 22b), and a controller (9) which carries out plate changing work on receiving an instruction from the plate changing work start switch (73) when the tilt position detection sections (71a, 71b) detect the tilt positions of the plate changing cassettes (36a, 36b) are provided.
