Abstract:

A plate glass manufacturing device is provided with: a molten glass ribbon supply section for supplying a continuous flow of molten glass as a glass ribbon having a moldable temperature to a molding section; the molding section provided with tension rollers for molding the glass ribbon having a moldable temperature, said glass ribbon being supplied from the molten glass ribbon supply section, into a glass ribbon having a non-moldable temperature; and a discharge section for discharging, on the downstream side of the molding section, the glass ribbon having a non-moldable temperature. All the tension rollers or all the tension rollers except the first tension roller are vapor generating tension rollers. The vapor generating tension rollers are formed using a roller base material which is able to contain a vapor film forming agent, and the vapor generating tension rollers have a structure configured in such a manner that the vapor generated from the vapor film forming agent contained in the roller base material is supplied between the peripheral surfaces of the tension rollers and the surfaces of the glass ribbon.
