Abstract:
Plate-shaped hydrotalcite having an enlarged average width of primary particles, wherein: (1) the average thickness is relatively reduced to thereby suppress aggregation of the primary particles and increase the aspect ratio of secondary particles; and (2) the formation of a by-product damaging the transparency of a resin is prevented. Plate-shaped hydrotalcite represented by formula (1) that satisfies the following requirements (A) to (D):(M2+)1-x(M3+)x(OH)2(An-)x/n·mH2O (1) [in formula (1): M2+ represents at least one kind of divalent metal; M3+ represents at least one kind of trivalent metal; An- represents an n-valent anion; n is an integer of 1-6; and x and m respectively fall within the ranges 0.1≤x≤0.33 and 0≤m≤10]: (A) the average width of the primary particles measured by the SEM method is 1 μm or more; (B) the average thickness of the primary particles measured by the SEM method is 80 nm or less; (C) the monodispersion degree of the width is 50% or more; and (D) the monodispersion degree of the thickness is 50% or more.
