Abstract:

Disclosed are plate-shaped particles films for the positive electrode active material of lithium secondary batteries, which provide lithium secondary batteries with capacity, durability and rate characteristics that are improved compared to the past, that are represented by the general formula Lip(Nix, Coy, Al2)O2 (in the formula, 0.9 ≦ p ≦ 1.3, 0.6 < x ≦ 0.9, 0.1 < y ≦ 0.3, 0 ≦ z ≦ 0.2, x + y + z = 1) and have a layered rock salt structure, or films thereof. The (003) face of the particles is oriented to intersect with the plate surface.
