Abstract:
A plated steel wire which is provided with: a steel wire to be plated; and a brass plating layer which covers the surface of the steel wire to be plated and is composed of Cu, Zn, Al and impurities, while having an average thickness of from 180 nm to 2,000 nm. If the total amount of Cu, Zn and Al is taken as 100% by mass, the content of Cu is 60% by mass or more but less than 70% by mass and the content of Al is 5.5% by mass or more but less than 15% by mass.
