Title:
PLATELET TEST CHIP
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/137188
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a platelet test chip comprising: a plurality of sample chambers which respectively store blood samples; agitators which are respectively installed within the sample chambers to apply shear force to the blood samples; a plurality of closed sample chambers which are provided so as to respectively correspond to the plurality of sample chambers; a microchannel which independently connects a sample chamber and a closed sample chamber corresponding to the sample chamber to thereby form a path through which the blood sample within the sample chamber flows toward the corresponding closed sample chamber; and micro-beads which are accommodated in at least one of the plurality of sample chambers, and of which the outer surfaces are coated with a reagent for activating platelets, wherein when the blood sample is transferred from the sample chamber along the microchannel, the micro-beads are transferred together. Accordingly, characteristic testing of platelets within a blood sample of a subject is possible, regardless of the viscosity and hematocrit values of the blood sample, or the function and values of vWF. Further, aggregation and adhesion of platelets can be very effectively induced even with a small amount of micro-beads (less than 1% of hematocrit). In addition, the blood transfer distance and time can be dramatically shortened, thereby remarkably reducing the time required for detection.
