Abstract:
Disclosed is a highly active platinum black catalyst powder. The platinum black powder has a BET specific surface area of 80 m2/g or more, or even 90 m2/g or more. The platinum black powder is produced as follows: a nanocolloid of hexahydroxoplatinic acid is produced in a liquid phase; the nanocolloid is reduced by adding a reducing agent thereto, so that a platinum-containing colloid is formed; the platinum-containing colloid is filtrated, and cleaned with purified water; and the cleaned platinum-containing colloid is dried.
