DESCRIPTION AND CLAIM FOR THE "EZ-V" WATCH HAND TRIMMER Pliers

The "EZ-V" WATCH HAND TRIMMER was invented for the purpose of easily trimming watch hands.

The plier style "V" cutter, see attached Fig. B, cuts a precise "V" point into the ends of most watch hands, see attached Fig. A, eliminating the uneven points that require repeated time- consuming trimming.

With the "EZ-V" WATCH HAND TRIMMER Pliers, a factory fresh look to all watch hand repairs can be easily obtained.

One simple cut is all that is needed when the "EZ-V WATCH HAND TRIMMER" is used.

See attached diagrams. Figs. A and B.

PLIERS Leonard P. Belmonte, Hillside, Illinois

[A. Point watch hand cutter and trimmer pliers.] [B. No applications to cut a "V" point (male)] [C. None] [D.] This invention relates to pliers.

(1.) Especially designed for cutting and trimming a "V" point on watch and clock hands.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Pliers for cutting a "V" point on watch hands is disclosed in U.S. Patent Serial No. 07/273,574, filed on November 18, 1988, the only trimming pliers for cutting a "V" point (male point) on watch hands. No other "V" cutting pliers cuts a factory fresh point on watch hands.

[SUMMARY] SPECIFICATION OF INVENTION Objective of EZ-V Watch Hand Cutter and Trimmer pliers is to enable watch repair personnel engaging in retrofitting watch movements to achieve a male V point on watch hands to be trimmed or adjusted. With this EZ-V trimmer and built-in guide a precision point can be made on watch hands in seconds. The trimming pliers works with a punch cutting action. On side of the pliers has a raised V cutting platform edge (male) . The opposite half of the matching EZ-V cutting plier jaw is V cut female to cut most hands when inserted into the pliers and lined up with the guide, giving a factory fresh V point on the watch hands.

DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS (Fig. 1) a perspective view of EZ-V Watch Hand Cutter and

Trimmer Pliers with Built-in Guide. (Fig. 2) a side-view of pliers (male) cutting platform and hand cutting guide lines. (Fig. 3) a top view of pliers showing male cutting platform and hand cutting guide lines.

(Fig. 4) a side view of female half of cutting jaw. (Fig. 5) a top view of female half of cutting jaw.

Alternate Embodiment with Guide

A watch hand trimmer pliers with a spring loaded adjustable length guide is provided.

Background and Summary of the Invention

An adjustable length guide is provided on the watch hand trimmer pliers to aid in guiding the watch hand and also to enable the user to preset the length of cut needed.

Drawings

Figure 6 is a perspective view of the pliers which includes the sliding table.

Figure 7 is a side elevational view of a portion of the pliers which includes the bottom jaw.

Figure 8 shows the sliding table.

Figure 9 is a plan view of the bottom jaw of the pliers.

Figure 10 is a side elevational view of a portion of the pliers which includes the upper jaw.

Figure 11 is a bottom view of the upper jaw.

Specification

The described guide incorporates a V-shaped adjustable springloaded sliding table 11. The sliding table 11 also includes a threaded post 12 which incorporates a locking nut 13 for stationarily positioning the sliding table 11 to provide multiple cuts of the same length. The sliding table 11 can be moved at will along the bottom jaw 14 of the pliers in a cut channel 19. The sliding table 11 is spring loaded and may be used with or without the locking device. A top jaw 18 with a V- shaped female tip 16 is shown for movement against the bottom jaw 14. The jaws are hinged at 17.
