Abstract:
The application discloses a public land mobile network (PLMN) selection method and an in-vehicle system (IVS). The method comprises: upon initialization of an IVS or triggering a PLMN reselection, the IVS selecting, from at least one preconfigured PLMN, a target PLMN, wherein a public safety answering point (PSAP) is deployed in the at least one preconfigured PLMN; measuring an indicator of the target PLMN; when the indicator of the target PLMN reaches a preconfigured threshold, accessing the target PLMN to enable the IVS to transmit data to the PSAP in the target PLMN. The method can be utilized to ensure that a PSAP is deployed in a PLMN accessed by an IVS, ensuring a same encoding method is employed in a transmission process of a minimum set of data (MSD), thereby ensuring reliability of MSD transmission.
