A plug which enables a hollow, bodily fluid-collecting needle to be easily and reliably inserted through the plug body and which, after the collection of bodily fluid is started, is less likely to cause the bodily fluid-collecting needle to come out of the plug due to the spring force of a sheath and enables the bodily fluid to be easily and reliably collected. A plug (1) for closing the opening end of a bodily fluid-collecting container (14) which is inserted into a tubular holder (11). The plug (1) comprises a plug body (2) which is affixed to the opening end of the bodily fluid-collecting container (14), and a cover member (3) which is provided over the plug body (2) so as to cover the outer surface of the plug body (2). The cover member (3) has a side surface section (3c) which covers the outer side surface of the plug body (2). A protrusion (3k) is provided to the outer surface of the side surface section (3c) of the cover member (3), and the protrusion (3k) protrudes toward the outside of the side surface section (3c) in the radial direction so that, when inserted into the holder (11), the protrusion (3k) makes contact with and applies frictional resistance to the inner wall of the holder (11).
