This plug (10) can be inserted into and removed from a socket (20) and constitutes a buckle (1) with the socket (20), the plug comprising; a base part (11); and a pair of leg parts (12) that are connected to the base part (11) at positions spaced away from each other in the width direction of the plug (10). At least one among the pair of leg parts (12) has: a first extending section (121) that extends from the base section (11) in the insertion direction of the plug (10); a second extending section (124) that extends inwardly from the first extending section (121) in the width direction of the plug (10); an engagement section (131) provided to the first extending section (321) or the second extending section (124) and capable of engaging with a to-be-engaged section (243) of the socket (20) in the removing direction of the plug (10); and an operating section (14) provided to the second extending section (124). When a force is applied to the operating section (14) in the removing direction, the first extending section (121) deforms elastically in the width direction of the plug (10) so that the position of the engagement section (131) changes from an engagement position with the to-be-engaged section (243) to an engagement release position.
