Abstract:
A plug-in hybrid vehicle provided with: an exhaust treatment unit which is connected to an engine and discharges exhaust gas generated by combustion of liquid fuel; an oxidation catalyst and an SCR catalyst which are disposed at non-terminal positions in the exhaust treatment unit and removes impurities included in the exhaust gas; and an external charging mechanism which electrically connects to and thereby charges a battery with external electrical power, wherein the external charging mechanism is provided with a first heater unit and a second heater unit for heating the oxidation catalyst and SCR catalyst by means of electrical power stored in the battery or the external electrical power, when the battery is being charged by the external electrical power while a fuel-based power unit and an electrical power unit are stopped.
