Abstract:

A plug-in surge protector comprising: a base (114) and at least one plug-in module (105). The base comprises a press plate (107) and a micro switch (108). The plug-in module is mounted onto the base via a detent mechanism. The plug-in module comprises: a housing (118), a first contact piece (110), a second contact piece (112), a nonlinear protecting element (109), separation rods (106), and an indicator component (101). An indicator window (133) is provided on the top of the housing. A first pin (109b) of the nonlinear protecting element is connected directly to the first contact piece. A second pin (109a) of the nonlinear protecting element is connected to the second contact piece via a U-shaped frame (131) and a flexible connecting element (132). The U-shaped frame and the flexible connecting element are electrically-conductive materials, to which the second pin is connected by means of a low-melting point alloy. An upper separation rod is mounted within the U-shaped frame. The indicator component (101) is mounted on the top of the housing and is capable of moving horizontally. A lower separation rod (106a) is mounted on the bottom of the U-shaped frame and is provided with a downward protrusion. The press plate is arranged at the bottom the housing; the micro switch is arranged below the housing and aligned with the press plate.
