Abstract:
A plug (102) for observation is provided with a spark plug body (50), an objective optical system (10), and a light guide path group (16). The spark plug body (50) ignites gas located in a combustion chamber by means of electrical discharge which is generated at a discharge gap (60) located in the combustion chamber. The spark plug body (50) is provided with an observation hole (4), which penetrates therethrough in the axis direction, at a position displaced from the discharge gap (60). The objective optical system (10) is provided in the observation hole (4) so as to be exposed to the combustion chamber. The objective optical system (10) bends the path of light which enters from an incident surface (10a) facing the discharge gap (60) included in a region to be observed, and forms within the observation hole (4) an image of the observed region. The light guide path group (16) is provided in the observation hole (4). The light guide path group (16) splits the image of the observed region formed by the objective optical system (10), and transfers the split images.
