Abstract:
A pluggable optical module (100) according to the present invention is characterized by being provided with: a pluggable electric connector (11) which is configured to be inserted into and removed from an optical transmission device and which is capable of exchanging a data signal with the optical transmission device through communication; a drive unit (13) for amplifying the data signal and outputting a first drive signal and a second drive signal; an optical signal output unit (14) for outputting a first optical signal obtained by modulation according to the first drive signal and a second optical signal obtained by modulation according to the second drive signal; a light intensity monitoring unit (15) for monitoring the intensities of the first and second optical signals; a control unit (16) for controlling, on the basis of a result of the monitoring by the light intensity monitoring unit (15), a gain of the drive unit (13) so as to adjust the difference in intensity between the first and second optical signals; and a pluggable optical receptor (12) which is configured to be inserted into and removed from an optical fiber and which outputs the first and second optical signals. With this configuration, the present invention adjusts a difference in light intensity between the optical signals in order to maintain signal quality.
