Provided is a pneumatic brake device for both decreasing the size of a drive mechanism and reducing the accommodating space. A pneumatic brake device (2) comprises a first pneumatic brake plate (10), the swinging distal end of which faces forward, and a second pneumatic brake plate (30), the swinging distal end of which faces backward. A first swinging shaft (14) of the first pneumatic brake plate (10) comprises a first balance gear (19) and meshes with a second balance gear (39) of a second swinging shaft (34) of the second pneumatic brake plate (30), and the first swinging shaft is configured so that both swinging shafts rotate in conjunction in a direction of raising up the brake plates. A first torsion coil spring (20) of the first swinging shaft (14) and a second torsion coil spring (40) of the second swinging shaft (34) partially raise up the first pneumatic brake plate (10) and the second pneumatic brake plate (30). Assisting torque (T1) of the first pneumatic brake plate (10) is greater than counteracting torque (T2) of the second pneumatic brake plate (30), and the brake plates therefore naturally swing in a rising direction without an actuator, putting the pneumatic brake into an actuated state.
