Disclosed is a pneumatic dowel gun, comprising a power part and an actuation part, wherein the power part comprises an air chamber (1), a handle (2) located under the air chamber, an air cylinder (3) and a striking piston (4) mounted in the air chamber, a back-striking balance valve (6), and an air passage control device (7) in the handle; and the actuation part comprises a rotating device (8), a piston rod (9), a return pin hammer (10) mounted at the front end of the piston rod, a rotary chamber (11), a dowel chamber (12), a muzzle (13) and a supporting plate (14) for positioning the dowel chamber, and a magazine (15) located under the supporting plate, a high-pressure air cavity being formed between the air cylinder and the air chamber, and the high-pressure air cavity communicates with a high-pressure air passage in the handle. The present invention is combined with a newly designed dowel, and solves the problem that a bamboo/wood dowel itself can be easily disintegrated when being struck because the bamboo/wood dowel itself cannot bear a force which can tear wood fibres and is required to overcome constantly increasing frictional force in order to get into timber, and greatly increases the speed and efficiency of striking.
