Abstract:
This pneumatic radial tire for passenger cars is characterized by being provided with a carcass which toroidally extends between a pair of bead parts, and which comprises plies of radially arranged cord. The pneumatic radial tire for passenger cars is further characterized in that: when the tire is fitted to an applicable rim, and the internal pressure is set so as to be at least 250 kPa, the cross-section width (SW) of the tire and the outer diameter (OD) of the tire satisfy a prescribed relational expression; and in a cross section of the tire in the width direction, the angle (θin)(˚) formed between the tire radial direction and an inside groove wall in the tire width direction, said inside groove wall being demarcated in the outermost peripheral main groove, among the peripheral main grooves extending along the tire in the peripheral direction, which is positioned at the outermost side in the tire width direction, is greater than the angle (θout) (˚) formed between the tire radial direction and an outside groove wall in the tire width direction, said outside groove wall being demarcated in the outermost peripheral main groove.
